One star, Two stars, Three stars, Four Stars, FIVE STARS! But what do they mean? Beyond the obvious "crummy to ritzy," if you've even wondered what these stars mean in terms of what you should expect to get, I'll explain it for you now.
A Word of Caution No, I'm not talking about one star hotels just yet. Rather, it's important to realize that there is no, one single scale that determines what stars which hotels get. Stars are given my hundreds of different organizations based on many different standards. The difference between Europe's 4-star system and America's 5-star system is just the beginning.
Kill the noise There is nothing worse than forgetting your ear plugs and having to hear a baby cry for your whole trip. You also might just have as tough a time with the noises that the plane itself makes.
Make sure you bring earphones, earplugs, and anything else you need to kill the noise. Nutrition matters
Lincoln Memorial Part of Washington DC's National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial is a stunning monument to Abraham Lincoln. American history is never more breathtaking than at the Lincoln Memorial: it is quite massive at almost 100 feet high, 119 feet wide, and 190 feet long.
They offer many of the same services - room service, valet parking, concierge service - plus excellent fitness rooms, business rooms, lounges, and banquet rooms (as do most 5 star hotels).
They are basically 5 star hotels minus the world renowned chefs and mind boggling elegance.
3 Star Hotels Also very nice and comfortable, 3 star hotels also provide room service, concierge service, fitness rooms, pools, on-site restaurants, and convenient locations. They are clean and well decorated, but lack the fine elegance you would find in 5 or 4 star hotels.
Stay away from the T.V. Unless you don't have much to do (most business people wish they could say this), then you should probably make sure you are taking time to prepare for presentations and meetings. Don't walk over to your Norwalk, Connecticut hotel and switch on that TV or you will soon find that you have wasted over 2 hours of your life that you won't get back.
Beating jet lag It is time to play a trick on your body and it all has to do with effectively using your time before you get to the time zone of your destination. It's all about the food and light.
Niagara Falls A true wonder of North America, 750,000 gallons of water fall over Niagara Falls every second! Sitting on the border between Canada and the United States, it's actually comprised of 3 waterfalls: American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls.
They are usually in walking distance of restaurants and are generally located near major highways and forms of transportation.
So, if you are looking for hotels in Norwalk Connecticut, check the stars for a general reference, but call the hotel and ask about any specific questions you have!
